Nominations are open for the 2019 Norman R Farnsworth ASP Research Achievement Award and the 2018 Matt Suffness Young Investigators Award. These awards are given annually by the American Society of Pharmacognosy.
The Farmsworth award consists of an honorarium of $5,000 and reasonable travel expenses and will present the award lecture at the annual meeting of the Society in Madison, WI July 13 -17, 2019. This is the premier award of the Society and candidates must be members of the Society who have made outstanding contributions to research on natural products.
The Sufness award consists of an honorarium of $2,000 and reasonable travel expenses. This award recognizes the contributions of younger natural product scientists, and to provide a special, timely forum for them to present results from their research at the annual ASP meeting. The Suffness awardee will present at the annual meeting in Lexington, KY July 21 – 25, 2018.
Nominations are due to the committee (firstname.lastname@example.org) by February 15, 2018.
Farmsworth nominations must consist of a single pdf document comprising a nominating letter, a curriculum vitae of the candidate, and supporting letters from two or three individuals who are familiar with the candidate’s scientific accomplishments. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Suffness nominees shall be within 12 years of receiving their Ph.D., and within 10 years of gaining their first independent position (e.g., Assistant Professor or equivalent position in industry or government). Nominations must be accompanied by the nominee’s CV, an abstract of the presentation proposed by the nominee, and relevant reprints (maximum of 4). Any current member of the ASP may submit nominations, however, self-nominations will not be accepted.
