Description

The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in the area of natural products research. The successful candidate will also serve as the DIRECTOR of the developing Appalachian Natural Products Research Program (ANPRP). Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. degree in pharmacognosy, plant biology or a related field and at least two years of postdoctoral experience in natural products research. Applicants must have experience in natural product isolation with experience in natural product characterization and activity evaluation highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to departmental educational activities, have current or develop an extramurally-funded research program, contribute to the service activities of the department and serve as Director of the ANPRP. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills. The position is open until filled and a background check is required.
