Job Description - The Department of Medicinal Chemistry and the Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3) at the University of Florida (https://cnpd3.pharmacy.ufl.edu) invites applications for one postdoctoral scholar position in natural products chemistry and chemical biology. The chemical focus of the CNPD3 is on unique natural products, and the goal is to fully exploit the biosynthetic and therapeutic potential of untapped biodiversity for drug discovery. The center embraces all aspects of natural products research from discovery, biosynthesis and chemical synthesis, assay development, screening and target identification to drug development.

Responsibilities - The Postdoctoral Scholar will work independently and collaboratively to analyze complex natural products using NMR and mass spectrometry, including metabolomic profiling. There will be cross-disciplinary opportunities in the general area of chemical biology using unbiased and targeted methods.Additional duties will include but are not limited to: mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; assisting with grant development; and performing routine lab and equipment maintenance and daily lab duties.

Qualifications - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation or be enrolled in an accredited PhD, or equivalent international degree.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrate general expertise in the field of natural products isolation and characterizationDemonstrate strong NMR and mass spectrometry skills in compound characterizationFamiliarity with database and networking platformsMetabolomics and global profiling expertiseExperience in linking genomic, proteomic and metabolomic data setsDemonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamBeing able to multi-task with multiple projects and keep pace in a dynamic research environmentIndependent in literature search and literature update.Record of research publication and/or research presentations
