The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry, commencing on July 1st, 2023, or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department has 20 full-time tenured and tenure track faculty members, and 10 Instructors. There are established research strengths in the Department in the areas of synthetic, analytical, and physical chemistry complemented by computational research. Additionally, the Department has a research focus in biochemistry, structural biology and natural products research offering ample opportunities for collaborations. Research in the Department of Chemistry is supported by a state-of-the-art NMR facility, the Manitoba Chemical Analysis Laboratory, and a newly established Cryo-EM facility. The University also hosts an extensive high-performance computing infrastructure and the Manitoba Institute of Materials which supports the university’s advanced microscopy and surface characterization equipment. Qualifications

The Department seeks an emerging scholar with demonstrated research excellence in any area of organic synthesis and a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. and relevant post-doctoral experience in Organic Chemistry or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program, that is recognized at the national and international level, with a strong focus on training at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral level. Moreover, the candidate will contribute to the vibrant nature of the Department of Chemistry through meaningful service supporting our academic and research activities.
