Postdoctoral Researcher- Uppsala University
Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a collaborative project between Dr. Charlotte Jandér (Department of Ecology and Genetics; Plant Ecology and Evolution), and Prof. Ulf Göransson (Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences; Pharmacognosy). You should have an interest in chemical analyses of natural products, testing their effect on human pathogens, and describing new compounds. The ideal candidate should have experience of isolation and structural elucidation of natural products. State-of-the-art equipment (HPLC, MS, NMR) are available. Qualifications

PhD in pharmacognosy, natural products chemistry, chemical ecology, or another relevant field. You must have good planning and organizational skills, good written and spoken English, and a proven publication track record. You should have experience in natural product isolation and structural elucidation by MS and NMR. Experience in studies of chemical communications between plants and insects, metabolomics of plants, dereplication, and connecting chemistry to bioinformatics is a merit. To be eligible you must have completed your PhD no more than 6 years ago. The funding source requires that you must not have received your PhD from Uppsala University.

Job Benefits

This is a 2-year position that comes with a tax-free stipend of 25 000 SEK per month. The successful candidate should ideally start the position in January 2022, but starting date is negotiable. Instructions for the application.
