Job Description - An integrative medicine center offering both conventional and complementary treatment for cancer patients is in need of a postdoctoral Research Associate to join its research team. The position is envisioned as at least a 2-year full-time commitment, but could be conducted as a 50% appointment for a longer period in conjunction with a part-time academic appointment. Distance work is possible, but some time in the clinic is necessary. The successful candidate will work with a MD and PhD team who have combined clinical, research and journal editing work for more than 20 years.

Responsibilities - Expertise is required in the literature of natural products and cancer molecular biology to lead the center’s efforts to publish literature reviews on natural products that target mutations frequently associated with various cancer subtypes. Additional reviews of other areas are also in process and the successful candidate will also participate in these.. The position will also involve work on the editorial staff of a peer-reviewed scientific journal from a major scientific publisher in the area of integrative oncology. Research on patients’ questions involving dietary supplements and other complementary and alternative interventions will also be needed.

Qualifications - The position requires a PhD in pharmacognosy, or in biochemistry focused on natural products work. Research experience in cancer (preclinical or clinical studies) is required, as is familiarity with cancer biology and an interest in the clinical use of dietary supplements.
