Position title
Tenure Track Investigator; National Cancer Institute, NIH
Description

The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Molecular Targets Program is seeking an outstanding tenure-track scientist to establish an independent research group focused on cell-based screening approaches to identify novel bioprobes and potential therapeutic agents against cancer. Ideally, the candidate will bring expertise in imaging modalities and experience in mechanism-of-action studies on active compounds identified in high throughput screens. Taking advantage of the stable resources provided by the NCI Intramural Research Program, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead an impactful research program, as part of the Molecular Targets Program (MTP). The MTP is an interdisciplinary program which exploits recent cancer-biology discoveries made in the Center for Cancer Research to develop bioassays and undertake screens of both pure compounds and natural products. For more information on the MTP visit https://ccr.cancer.gov/molecular-targets-program/. The MTP will be recruiting this position through the NIH Stadtman Tenure Track Investigator Program. Information on the Stadtman Program can be found at the following web address https://irp.nih.gov/careers/trans-nih-scientific-recruitments/stadtman-tenure-track-investigators/. Candidates should apply to the Stadtman Program and select “Chemical Biology” as a research area to be seen for the position in the Molecular Targets Program. The Stadtman application webpage is: https://irp.nih.gov/careers/faculty-level-scientific-careers/stadtman-tenure-track-investigators-3/. Applications must be received by September 30th, 2022. NCI is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), a federal government agency. The CCR is the largest component of the intramural biomedical research effort at NIH and is a major user of the NIH Clinical Research Center, a state-of-the-art research hospital on the Bethesda, Maryland campus. The CCR offers a tremendous depth and breadth of intellectual and technological resources, as well as opportunities for collaboration with investigators both within and outside of the NIH. The research environment is highly conducive to advancing translational research and highly collaborative, emphasizing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team science.
