Establish protocols to maximise yield of biodiversity and bioactivity of microbial strains from environmental, invertebrate and plant sources using state-of-the-art techniques. Help guide the establishment, optimization and maintenance of an environmental microbiology laboratory including molecular methods, such as phylogenetics and gene-expression. Help develop models to evaluate the effectiveness of the biobank, in accordance with best practices, including e.g. cryopreservation. Establish procedures and maintain an outstanding record of laboratory data and procedures to ISO/best-practice-, and ,for bioproduction, GMP standards.
