Journal of Natural Products Changes and Achievements

January 26, 2026 by pharmacognosy

The Journal of Natural Products, co-published with the American Society of Pharmacognosy, opens Volume 89 for 2026 with notable changes and achievements. Dr. Cedric Pearce will be stepping down as Executive Editor after years of exceptional leadership and contributions to the Journal’s scientific direction. Professor Wenjun Zhang of the University of California Berkeley has been welcomed as Associate Editor, bringing her expertise in microbial natural product research. The journal reports a nearly 6% rise in Impact Factor and maintains steady submission and acceptance rates, highlighting its continued growth and influence. Editorial enhancements include a new order for published article types that moves reviews and perspectives to more prominent positions, along with the addition of cited reference titles within article PDFs. The Journal also introduces the A Douglas Kinghorn Award to recognize outstanding Reviews and Perspectives, joining its existing research article honors.
