Nominations for the Phillip Crews Mentoring Award

The Phillip Crews Mentoring Award is to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to mentoring in the field of natural products. Mentorship may include mentees in any stage of career in pharmacognosy including students, colleagues, and/or interns, in academic, government, non-government non-profit organization (NGO), and/or industrial settings.
Award: The Phillip Crews Mentoring Award will consist of a podium talk at the ASP annual meeting, and a suitably inscribed plaque or gift. When possible, the awardee will be introduced by their nominee(s).
Selection: To be made by a committee appointed by the President of the American Society of Pharmacognosy (ASP), consisting of a chair and at least two other members.
Eligibility and Mechanism: The Phillip Crews Mentoring Award will be awarded either at the annual or an interim meeting of the ASP. Recipients must be present in person to receive it. Applications/nominations for the Phillip Crews Mentoring Award must be submitted by February 15th.
Application Form will consist of:
- Nomination letter prepared by mentee(s) that outlines contribution to mentoring. A nomination letter may be co-signed by multiple mentees.
- A detailed curriculum vitae of the nominee, including a list of mentees
- Up to two additional supporting letters prepared by mentee(s) and/or colleague(s), may also be submitted on behalf of a candidate/nominee. Additional supporting letters may be co-signed by multiple mentees and/or colleagues.
Membership in the ASP is not a requirement for consideration, nor is eligibility restricted on the basis of nationality. Applications will not be returned. The Committee will hold unsuccessful submissions for reconsideration in future years.
